IMI Level 4 award in diagnosis testing and repair of electric/hybrid vehicles and components (VRQ)
This qualification contains the knowledge of the dangers surrounding repairs carried out to live high voltage vehicle electrical components and systems. The purpose and aim of this qualification is to provide technicians working on electric/ hybrid vehicles with the required level of skills and knowledge to carry out repairs on live high voltage vehicle electrical components and systems safely.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This qualification has been developed by IMI in conjunction with electric vehicle manufacturers, the health and safety executive, training providers and the IMI Sector Skills Council. It is the first qualification to address live electric vehicle (high voltage) technology. The qualification is essential to ensure the health and safety of individuals working with live high voltage vehicle electrical components and systems.

WHAT EXISITING KNOWLEDGE IS NEEDED?
You must have the IMI Level 3 Electric Vehicle qualification and be willing to complete a 1000 word assignment in order to complete this training course. Please contact our team if you have any questions.
FAQs
Completed L2 and L3, ideally with electrical / mechanical experience and able to demonstrate practical skills.
1,000 word dissertation after proving use of EV3 in the workplace.
Typically, 4 to 6 weeks.
We will talk you through site facilities and if you prefer your own car, we will try to accommodate.
No, we provide all safety equipment and you will use specialist-insulated tools, however as personal preference you may wish to bring your own, which are also available to buy from our shop. Your own PPE will be checked and confirmed by the Trainer for use and suitability.
