NTDA Licensed Mobile Tyre Technician
COURSE OVERVIEW
This tyre fitting course is designed for Technicians working on vehicles from a mobile base (Van). It's part of The NTDA Tyre Technician Professional Development Scheme and includes a section on roadside wheel changing procedure in line with REACT recommendations, making it REACT compliant.
What The Course Covers:
- Tyre history / construction and tyre types
- Sidewall markings and tyre labelling
- New EV tyres
- Tyre Law
- Car and light vehicle wheels and their security
- Jacking vehicles correctly – EV vehicle dangers of battery damage
- Issues affecting tyre life and how to best manage them
- Customer Care
- Health & Safety at work including safe working at customers premises
- Risk assessment and safe working practices
- Mobile fitting and balancing
- Minor tyre repairs in accordance with BS159g to include new technologies
- C&U Regs
- Tyre damage and wear including how to inspect tyres
- Roadside wheel changing procedure in line with REACT recommendations

What Are The Aims of The Course?
To ensure that technicians and customers are both safe and that the standard of work completed is based on the relevant occupational standards.
What's the course pre-requisites?
You'll need a minimum of one year's experience in tyre fitting, a fully equipped mobile tyre fitting vehicle, and a valid driving licence.
Who is the course for?
Tyre Technicians who work or may work from a mobile tyre fitting vehicle fitting car/van /LCV and 4X4 tyres.
Anything else we need to mention?
The NTDA Licence has a five-year life after which refresher training will need to be undertaken.
