Yes. The courses are IMI-accredited. The Level 2 ADAS qualification is listed under IMI offerings. Completing suitable ADAS/EV training helps you gain IMI’s TechSafe recognition (which signals you’re up to date with safety, diagnosis & repair of modern systems).
Static calibration typically involves fixed, stationary equipment and calibration targets (e.g. camera or radar modules aligned using projection tools, frames, etc.). Dynamic calibration involves calibrating while driving (for example, for ADAS functions that self-adjust while moving). The Level 2 course explains both (static/dynamic).
No. Thanks to Autotech’s partnership with TOPDON UK, they have mobile calibration units that can travel to your premises, so you don’t necessarily need your own equipment.
Yes. The course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to diagnose, rectify, and calibrate ADAS sensors; understand which calibration method to use; interpret vehicle-specific information; and carry out work safely. After the course you should be more confident to offer ADAS calibration as part of your services. (Though you might still need to invest in equipment if you don’t already have it.)
Safety is part of the syllabus: working safely with ADAS systems (which may include high-voltage circuits depending on the vehicle), proper workshop setup (lighting, target placement), using diagnostic tools correctly, and ensuring calibration is done to manufacturer/OEM standards.
