Autotech Training Set to Play Significant Role at UK Garage & Bodyshop Event

Autotech Training will have a big presence during this week’s UK Garage & Bodyshop event. From panel discussions to presenting and judging across the two day event, Autotech Group CEO Gavin White, Autotech Training Managing Director, Colin Gleghorn, and Autotech Training Business Development Director, Dave Walker, will participate in a range of events.

The entire Autotech Training team will also be on Stand A40 to highlight its entire training course offering, demonstrating to visitors how they can upskill their workforce to future proof their businesses.

Below is a schedule of appearances:

Wednesday, 8 June

  • At 10am, Autotech Training Director, Dave Walker, will be among the judges of Autogem’s inaugural TPMS Expert competition, where one large retailer and one small retailer will be crowned winners.
  • At midday, Autotech Group CEO Gavin White will join a panel discussing the challenges of getting new people into the industry, in CAT Conversation: How to bring people in and plug the skills gap. Presented by Greg Whitaker, editor of CAT magazine, the panel discussion will be held within the EV & Hybrid Training Hub.

Thursday, 9 June

  • At midday on Thursday, Autotech Training Managing Director, Colin Gleghorn will present Talent Recharge – the impact of EV at the EV & Hybrid Training Hub. With talent attraction and retention key to the future of the industry, Colin will share best practice advice on how to devise and deploy successful long term strategies to engage and retain vehicle technicians. With rising numbers of electric/hybrid vehicles impacting the skills issue, Colin will also highlight what can be done to maximise the opportunities and overcome challenges.
  • Following on from Colin’s presentation, Gavin will once again join a panel of aftermarket experts EV & Hybrid Training Hub to discuss The Modern Garage; Infrastructure & Skills. Emphasising the challenges garages are facing as a result of the increase in EVs entering the independent sector, combined with the impact of ADAS and other vehicle technologies, the panel will discuss what garages need to prioritise and implement to become a garage of the future and strengthen turnover.
