Autotech Training launches a range of services to support overstretched MOT sector

Autotech Training has launched a comprehensive range of services designed to support the MOT sector.

With the number of cars on UK records anticipated to reach 45 million by 2045, booking the essential annual MOT test will become increasingly difficult for vehicle owners due to the depleting number of MOT testing stations.

According to research from the Driver Vehicle and Standards Agency (DVSA) on average, there are 642 vehicles to one MOT test station in the UK. Couple this with a shortage of MOT testers, and increasing demand coming down the line, and already overstretched MOT testers are set to face increasing strain.

In response to these challenges, Autotech Training has launched a comprehensive range of services designed to support the MOT sector.

Aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, supporting MOT Managers, and streamlining business processes for MOT stations, Autotech Training’s MOT support incorporates four levels of plan starting from just £24.99 per month.

Each plan includes access to MOTsafe, the innovative online portal that simplifies the understanding of complex MOT data. A crucial digital tool for garages, MOTsafe helps maintain compliance and ensures operational efficiency.

One key feature is the portal’s ability to help garages avoid DVSA sanctions by providing real-time analysis of MOT data. By centralising data from multiple sites into one easy-to-navigate dashboard, MOTsafe enables garage owners to identify areas of concern and take proactive measures to address them, ensuring continuous compliance and avoiding the risk of site sanctions.

While each of the four plans incorporates MOTsafe, the offering within each plan rises from ‘Essentials’ through to ‘Pro’ to include a full range of supporting services and solutions including:

  • An online Vehicle Testing Station audit to improve or maintain a site’s RAG rating.
  • Full MOT data breakdown – essential to spotting any red flags which may be picked up by the DVSA
  • Discounted MOT related training
  • Annual MOT tester training and assessment

Rob Walsh, Head of MOT for Autotech Training, comments:When MOT testing is one of your core services, you can't afford to cut corners or fall behind on legislation. You need to be 100% certain you and your team has all the latest knowledge and skills and can monitor MOT data to ensure a site retains its high standards and remains compliant.

At Autotech Training, we understand the critical importance of MOT compliance in ensuring road safety. With MOTsafe, we have empowered garage owners, equipping them with a simple-to-use digital tool to ensure they stay ahead of DVSA regulations and identify potential issues. We are now taking this support one step further with the launch of a range of four plans designed to alleviate the strain on MOT testing station.”
