Autotech Training has collaborated with the Petromin Corporation, a leading multi-national organisation, to provide a range of ongoing training support which will culminate in the opening of a unique training facility - the first of its kind within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Employing over 6,000 people, with a presence in over 40 countries, Petromin is committed to creating sustainable and innovative mobility solutions and, last week, officially launched its EV AUTO CARE Centre network.

By the end of 2024, Petromin will have a network of 40 plus EV AUTO CARE Centres open across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting the transition to electric and hybrid vehicles.

Directly supporting its acceleration towards electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell technology and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) Petromin has partnered with Autotech Training to deliver a range of training and ongoing support to future-proof and upskill its workforce.

Ahead of the opening of Petromin’s first, EV AUTO CARE Centre, experienced trainers from Autotech Training travelled to Jeddah to deliver IMI Level 2 Electric/Hybrid training to Petromin Technicians.

The ongoing collaboration will also see Autotech Training provide guidance around the installation of EV infrastructure as Petromin continues to roll out its EV AUTO CARE Centre network, support in the appointment of Petromin trainers, while delivering a range of IMI approved courses, including Electric, Hydrogen, Electric HGV and ADAS.

Next year, in a move which will underpin the collaboration between Petromin and Autotech Training, a dedicated Training Academy will open to ensure the ongoing upskilling of Petromin’s network.

Providing continuous support, including Train the Trainer programmes, workshops, CPD and curriculum development, Autotech Training will shape the Training Academy offering to match the evolving needs of Petromin.

While ensuring the curriculum remains current, Autotech Training will also establish the Training Academy as an IMI Approved Centre and implement the IMI TechSafe™ standard.

To support the recruitment of skilled trainers and implement technologies to aid future learning, the skills of Autotech Training’s sister divisions, Autotech Recruit and Autotech Connect, will be drawn upon to maximise the Training Academy.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the Petromin Corporation and supporting them as they roll out ambitious plans to reach sustainability objectives, and create this truly unique Training Academy,” comments Simon King, Interim CEO of Autotech Group. “Petromin is committed to upskilling and future-proofing its network, and this mirrors the ethos of Autotech Group, as our very existence is to aid organisations as they electrify fleets and transition towards future vehicles, through the creation of solutions which support this process.”
