Our annual MOT training syllabus, supported by the IMI, has been developed to the highest standard and covers all topics and hours required by DVSA to enable you to learn and develop your MOT testing theory - and stay an approved tester.

Both training and assessment can be completed on desktop/laptop computer, tablet or smartphone via the Internet at your own pace and from the comfort of your home or workplace

HOW IT WORKS
Book your MOT annual training and assessment with Autotech Training, complete payment by debit/credit card or bank transfer, and receive a unique access code.
- Complete a total of 3 hours of training using our 2025/26 syllabus at your own pace.
- Take your MOT annual assessment by 31 March 2026.
- Keep a record of your training and assessment results in our online storage facility
- Remember to record your assessment result with the DVSA!

RELATED COURSES
It’s the yearly requirement for MOT testers to stay DVSA-approved. You must complete a minimum number of 3 hours training, then take an assessment, following the syllabus set by DVSA.
Yes: there is an online option via our online learning platform Autolearn, and an in-class option held at Milton Keynes.
For MOT Annual Assessment, pass mark is 80%. If you fail, you can retake. But if you haven’t passed by the end of the training year, your MOT tester status may be suspended.
Your MOT tester status can be suspended. You need to complete both the required training and pass the assessment.
