Autotech Training has partnered with TPMS specialist Autogem to launch an IMI-certified TPMS training programme designed to support the growing technical demands placed on tyre technicians.
Developed in response to increasing industry demand for recognised training, the programme combines Autogem’s established TPMS expertise with Autotech Training’s IMI-approved accreditation framework, creating a certified course that can now be delivered more widely across the tyre sector.
The partnership was formed after Autogem was approached by a customer requiring formal accreditation as part of its internal training and compliance standards. While Autogem already delivered technical TPMS training, the requirement reflected a wider shift across the aftermarket, where businesses are placing greater emphasis on recognised qualifications and demonstrable technician competence.
As TPMS systems become increasingly integrated into day-to-day tyre servicing, technicians are expected to carry out sensor replacements, diagnostics, relearn procedures and system resets quickly and accurately. However, increasing system complexity means workshops are also facing greater risks associated with incorrect servicing, damaged sensors and unresolved faults.
The new IMI-certified programme has been developed to help workshops strengthen technician confidence, improve consistency and maximise the effectiveness of their TPMS equipment and processes.
“Accredited training is becoming increasingly important because it both validates skills and resonates across the industry. We genuinely believe the sector needs this,” comments Prashant Chopra, Managing Director at Autogem.

Delivered through Autotech Training’s IMI-approved structure, the programme has been designed to provide tyre businesses with a recognised benchmark for technician development, while supporting greater consistency and professionalism across workshop operations.
For technicians, the training provides formal recognition of skills in an increasingly technical area of servicing. For employers, it offers reassurance that TPMS work is being completed using approved procedures and recognised industry standards.

The IMI-certified TPMS programme will be delivered through both Autotech Training and Autogem’s dedicated training facilities as part of a wider rollout across the UK aftermarket.
